HLS 24RS-679 ENGROSSED HB NO. 226 Present law provides that whoever commits the crime of public bribery shall be fined not more than $1,000, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both. Proposed law changes the penalty to provide for a maximum fine of $2,000. Proposed law further changes the penalty of imprisonment, to be served with or without hard labor, from a maximum of five years to 10 years.
