RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 370 (HB 226) 2024 Regular Session Mandie Landry Existing law provides for the crime of public bribery. Prior law required a fine of not more than $1,000, or imprisonment, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both for whoever committed the crime of public bribery. New law changes the penalty to provide for a maximum fine of $2,000. New law further changes the penalty of imprisonment, to be served with or without hard labor, from a maximum of five years to 10 years. Effective August 1, 2024. (Amends R.S. 14:118(C)(1))
