Abstract: Requires the Red River Parish Clerk of Court to perform the functions of the jury
commission in that parish.
Present law provides for a jury commission in each parish to perform certain functions including
coordination of the jury venire process.
Present law provides that in Caldwell, Claiborne, DeSoto, Franklin, Union, and Webster parishes
the function of the jury commission shall be performed by the respective clerk of court or by a
deputy clerk of court designated by the clerk in writing to act in his stead in all matters affecting the
jury commission.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the clerk of court of Red River Parish.
