HLS 24RS-924 ORIGINAL 2024 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 309 BY REPRESENTATIVE COX GAMBLING/CHARITABLE: Provides with respect to compensation of personnel running charitable gaming events 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 4:715(A)(2)(b), relative to charitable gaming; to provide for an 3 increase in compensation for charitable gaming workers; and to provide for related 4 matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 4:715(A)(2)(b) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง715. Personnel to hold games; commissions or salaries; equipment and supplies; 8 expenses 9 A. 10 * * * 11 (2)(a) 12 * * * 13 (b) Any person, association, or corporation licensed to hold, operate, or 14 conduct any games of chance under any license issued pursuant to this Chapter may 15 compensate, for services rendered, any fifteen employees, including a bingo caller, 16 who assist in the holding, operating, or conducting of such games. The rate of 17 compensation shall be no more than fifteen twenty dollars per hour and in any event 18 shall not exceed ninety one hundred dollars per session for any employee. Each 19 employee or volunteer worker may also be provided meals and beverages to be eaten 20 on the premises not to exceed a total value of fifteen dollars per person. Present law provides that rate of compensation for charitable gaming personnel shall not exceed $15 per hour and $90 per session. Proposed law changes present law to increase compensation from $15 to $20 and from $90 to $100.
