GAMING:  Provides relative to deadlines for financial disclosures required of members and
certain employees of the Gaming Control Board and of the gaming enforcement
division
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 27:12(B), 63(A) and (B), and 226(A) and (B), relative to
3 required financial disclosures of certain members and employees of the Gaming
4 Control Board and of the gaming enforcement division in the office of state police,
5 Department of Public Safety and Corrections; to provide for a period of time within
6 which to file certain disclosure documents; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 27:12(B), 63(A) and (B), and 226(A) and (B) are hereby amended
9and reenacted to read as follows: 
10 §12.  Certain financial interests prohibited; oaths

12	B.  Each member of the board, except the ex officio members, shall file with
13 the Board of Ethics prior to no later than fifteen days from the time of confirmation,
14 and annually thereafter, a financial disclosure statement listing all assets and
15 liabilities, property and business interests, and sources of income of the member, the
16 spouse of the member, and each minor child of the member.  Such financial

1 disclosure shall be completed on a form designed by the ethics board and shall
2 include a sworn affidavit as to its accuracy.

4 §63.  Standards of conduct
5	A.  Each member of the commission and the supervisor shall file with the
6 Board of Ethics at no later than fifteen days from the time of appointment and
7 annually thereafter, a financial disclosure statement listing all assets and liabilities,
8 property and business interests, and sources of income of the member or supervisor,
9 the spouse of the member or supervisor, and minor children of the member or
10 supervisor.
11	B.  Each employee of the commission, except secretarial and clerical
12 personnel, and each employee or agent of the division, except secretarial and clerical
13 personnel, shall file with the Board of Ethics, at no later than fifteen days from the
14 time of appointment and annually thereafter, an affidavit affirming that the employee
15 or agent and the spouse of the employee or agent does not have an interest in an
16 applicant licensee or permittee.

18 §226.  Standards of conduct
19	A.  Each member of the board shall file with the Board of Ethics at no later
20 than fifteen days from the time of appointment, and annually thereafter, a financial
21 disclosure statement listing all assets and liabilities, property and business interests,
22 and sources of income of the member, the spouse of the member, and minor children
23 of the member.
24	B.  Each employee of the corporation, except secretarial and clerical
25 personnel, shall file with the  Board of Ethics, at no later than fifteen days from the
26 time of appointment or employment and annually thereafter, an affidavit affirming
27 that the employee and the spouse of the employee do not have an economic interest
28 in an applicant, licensee, or permittee.

Abstract:  Provides a 15-day period within which to file financial disclosure statements and
affidavits for members and certain employees of the Gaming Control Board and the
gaming enforcement division of the office of state police.
Present law requires members of the Gaming Control Board to file a financial disclosure
statement listing all assets and liabilities, property and business interests, and sources of
income of the member, the spouse of the member, and each minor child.  Present law
requires the financial disclosure statements of the board members to be filed prior to or at
the time of confirmation.
Present law requires each employee or agent of the gaming enforcement division of the
office of state police (except secretarial and clerical personnel) to file an affidavit affirming
that the employee and the spouse of the employee do not have an economic interest in an
applicant, licensee, or permittee.  Present law requires the affidavit of the employees to be
filed at the time of employment or appointment.
Proposed law retains present law but changes the filing deadline for the financial disclosure
statements of the members and the affidavits of the employees to no later that 15 days from
the time of confirmation, appointment, or employment, as applicable.
