Abstract: Provides relative to the regulation of therapeutic marijuana.
Present law requires the La. Dept. of Health to grant licenses to produce therapeutic marijuana only
to the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and the Southern University Agricultural
Center.
Proposed law retains present law and adds that the license granted to the universities permits only
the Louisiana State University of Agricultural Center and the Southern University Agricultural
Center to conduct research on therapeutic marijuana.
Present law terminates the provisions of the therapeutic marijuana program on Jan. 1, 2025.
Proposed law extends the termination date to July 1, 2030.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
