Abstract: Directs a healthcare provider to document a preexisting sickle cell disease diagnosis on
a patient's immunization record.
Present law requires the Louisiana Department of Health to maintain a record of all immunizations
an individual receives.
Proposed law provides a location for healthcare providers to designate a sickle cell disease diagnosis
after obtaining the consent of the patient or, if the patient is a minor, the consent of the patient's
parent or guardian.
