Abstract: Creates an additional judgeship for the 21st Judicial District Court.
Present law provides for nine judgeships in the 21st Judicial District Court (Livingston, St. Helena,
and Tangipahoa Parishes).
Proposed law adds a 10th judgeship to the 21st Judicial District Court.
Proposed law divides the 21st Judicial District Court into two election sections, election section one
consisting of the parishes of Tangipahoa, Livingston, and St. Helena and election section two
consisting of parts of St. Helena and Tangipahoa.  Provides that the additional judge added by
proposed law shall be elected from election two and that his initial term begins on Jan. 1, 2025.
