ACT 379 (HB 470) 2024 Regular Session St. Blanc
Existing law establishes the Coroner's Operational Fund and a criminal court fee on certain
defendants dedicated to defraying the operational costs of the office of the coroner in the
parish in which the conviction occurred.
New law authorizes all courts in St. Mary Parish to collect a fee of not less than $5 nor more
than $10 for the support of the coroner.
New law requires approval from the Judicial Council prior to the application of the new fee.
Effective August 1, 2024.
