Existing law provides for the collection of marshals' fees and costs in criminal matters in
certain city courts.
Existing law (R.S. 13:2074.4) authorizes the city marshal of Hammond to collect a fee of $20
for taking an appearance bond.
New law authorizes the city marshal of Alexandria to collect a fee of $30 for taking an
appearance bond in order to supplement the operational expenses of the marshal's office.
New law requires Judicial Council approval prior to application of the new fee.
Effective August 1, 2024.
