Abstract: Changes the allocation of revenues received by the state from license fees
imposed on trappers by directing all revenue to the Louisiana Fur Public Education
and Marketing Fund.
Present law requires all revenues received by the state from license fees imposed on trappers
as required in present law (R.S. 56:251(A)(1)) be credited to the Bond Security and
Redemption Fund. Present law provides that the state treasurer is authorized and directed
to transfer annually excess revenues derived from the sale of such licenses into a special
fund designated as the La. Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund, in the amount of $20
for each resident trapping license sold and $145 for each nonresident trapping license sold.
Proposed law modifies present law by specifying that the state treasurer is authorized and
directed to transfer annually all revenues derived from the sale of trapping licenses to the La.
Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund.
(Amends R.S. 56:266(D)(1))
