[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 537 Engrossed 2024 Regular Session Bourriaque Abstract: Changes the allocation of revenues received by the state from license fees imposed on trappers by directing all revenue to the Louisiana Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund. Present law requires all revenues received by the state from license fees imposed on trappers as required in present law (R.S. 56:251(A)(1)) be credited to the Bond Security and Redemption Fund. Present law provides that the state treasurer is authorized and directed to transfer annually excess revenues derived from the sale of such licenses into a special fund designated as the La. Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund, in the amount of $20 for each resident trapping license sold and $145 for each nonresident trapping license sold. Proposed law modifies present law by specifying that the state treasurer is authorized and directed to transfer annually all revenues derived from the sale of trapping licenses to the La. Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund. (Amends R.S. 56:266(D)(1)) Summary of Amendments Adopted by House The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment to the original bill: 1. Delete "excess from" from provisions governing revenues received by the state from trapper licensing fees. The effect of the amendment is to authorize and direct the state treasurer to transfer annually all revenues derived from the licensing fees into the Louisiana Fur Public Education and Marketing Fund.
