ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Provides relative to container sizes for beverages of high
alcohol content
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 26:351(3)(a), relative to alcoholic beverages; to provide relative
3 to the sale and shipment of certain alcoholic beverages; to provide relative to
4 container size limitations of beverages of high alcoholic content; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 26:351(3)(a) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง351. Limitation on size of containers of beverages of high alcoholic content;

11 (3)(a) Distilled spirits, whether domestically bottled or imported, subject to
12 the metric standard of fill prescribed in Paragraph (1) of this Section shall be packed
13 with the following number of containers per shipping case or container:

17 750 milliliters not more than 12

Abstract: Authorizes distilled spirits domestically bottled or imported in 750 ml containers
and 1.00 liter containers to be packed with not more than 12 containers per shipping
case.
Present law provides restrictions of container sizes for distilled spirits sold in or shipped into
the state of La.
Present law provides restrictions for the number of containers per shipping case.
Proposed law retains present law and provides that a case of 750 ml containers shall consist
of not more than 12 containers. Provides further that a case of 1.00 liter containers shall
consist of not more than 12 containers.
