Abstract: Provides relative to the designation of certain justices of the peace in Plaquemines Parish.
Present law requires that a justice of peace be a resident of the ward and district from which elected.
Proposed law retains present law but provides an exception for the ward three justice of the peace
in Plaquemines Parish.
Proposed law establishes several justice of the peace courts within the parish of Plaquemines.
Proposed law provides that the justice of the peace courts that exist on the effective date of proposed
law shall continue in effect until changed in accordance with the law.
