[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 587 Engrossed 2024 Regular Session Bryant Abstract: Requires potential arborists to provide proof of application to insurers prior to receipt of insurance policies for the profession. Proposed law prohibits an insurer writing general liability and workers' compensation insurance policies in this state from issuing policies to persons who do not first show proof of application to become licensed as an arborist, as provided in present law (R.S. 3:3801 et seq.) Proposed law authorizes the commissioner of insurance to assess a penalty not in excess of $1,000 against any person who submits a false application.
