GREEN SHEET REDIGEST HB 65 2024 Regular Session Hilferty LAW ENFORCE/OFFICERS: Provides for the certification by the Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training of the New Orleans inspector general and his investigators. DIGEST Present law provides for investigative powers for any local ethics entity, ethics review board, or office of inspector general. Proposed law authorizes the inspector general and investigators employed in the New Orleans Office of Inspector General to carry a firearm provided they annually become P.O.S.T. certified and have proof of qualification, in addition to a valid identification as a retired law enforcement officer.
