DISTRICTS/WATERWORKS: Provides relative to the board of the South Cameron
Consolidated Waterworks District No. 1 in Cameron Parish
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 33:3812(K), relative to waterworks commissioners; to provide relative to the
3 board of the South Cameron Consolidated Waterworks District No. 1 of Cameron
4 Parish; to provide for the number of members on the board; to provide for
5 qualifications; and to provide for related matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8 Louisiana.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1. R.S. 33:3812(K) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
11 ยง3812. Waterworks commissioners; qualifications

13 K. Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A of this Section, the
14 membership of the board of commissioners of the South Cameron Consolidated
15 Waterworks District No. 1 of Cameron Parish shall be comprised of six members
16 appointed by the governing authority of Cameron Parish.

Abstract: Provides for the number of commissioners on the board of the South Cameron
Consolidated Waterworks District No. 1 of Cameron Parish.
Present law requires that all waterworks districts created under present law be governed by
a board of five members. Provides exceptions.
Proposed law makes an exception for the South Cameron Consolidated Waterworks District
No. 1 of Cameron Parish. Provides that the district shall be governed by a board of six
members appointed by the governing authority of the parish.
