RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 633 (HB 728) 2024 Regular Session Davis Existing law establishes the M.J. Foster Promise Award Program, which provides financial awards towards the costs of tuition and required fees to certain students pursuing an associate degree or shorter-term postsecondary credential required for certain high-demand, high-wage occupations aligned to the state's workforce priorities. Existing law requires an applicant to be a certain age. New law lowers the age minimum from 21 to 17 by one year each year as follows: Award Year Initial Eligibility Minimum Age 2024-2025 20 2025-2026 19 2026-2027 18 2027-2028 and thereafter17 Effective upon signature of governor (June 11, 2024).
