Abstract: Increases filing fees and court costs in civil suits for the 19th JDC.
Present law authorizes the 19th JDC to establish a judicial expense fund and to assess additional
costs and civil charges in civil matters.
Present law requires the judges of the 19th JDC, sitting en banc, to determine a sum not to exceed
$15 that shall be collected or received by the clerk of court and placed in a separate account to be
designated as the Judicial Expense Fund for the 19th JDC.
Proposed law removes the requirement of the judges of the 19th JDC, sitting en banc, to determine
a sum not to exceed $15 and fixes the sum at $60.
