Existing law provides for the crime of trafficking of children for sexual purposes and
provides for penalties.
New law retains existing law.
Prior law defined "commercial sexual activity" as any sexual act performed or conducted
when any thing of value had been given, promised, or received by any person.
New law defines "commercial sexual activity" as any lewd or lascivious act upon the person
or in the presence of any child when any thing of value has been given, promised, or received
by any person.
Effective August 1, 2024.
