ACT 573 (HB 880) 2024 Regular Session Schamerhorn
Prior law provided that every registration of a truck in excess of 10,000 pounds or trailer
licensed pursuant to existing law expires one year from the date of issuance and thereafter
must be renewed annually between May first and June thirtieth.
New law modified prior law to refer to the gross vehicle weight rating up to and including
16,000 pounds and requires the registration and license tax be paid and expire annually from
the date of issuance.
New law provides an exception to the annual registration requirement in existing law for
trucks weighing 10,000 to 16,000 pounds to be renewed annually from the date of issuance.
Effective August 1, 2024.
