R.S. 38:84.1 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง84.1. Required compliance with certain local ordinances relative to flood control 9 Each state agency, and each public and quasi-public agency of the state, shall, 10 except with respect to the construction and maintenance of bridges and highways and 11 integrated coastal protection projects included in the state's local master plan, comply 12 with all ordinances, rules, and regulations, including zoning and land use regulations, 13 adopted by any parish or municipality of the state pursuant to the authority of the 14 National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, Title 42, United States Code, Sections 4001 15 through 4127. 16 Section 2. Notwithstanding any provisions of law to the contrary, it is the express 17intent of the legislature of Louisiana that the provision of Civil Code Article 6 be applied to 18this Act as interpretive and remedial in nature and that the provisions of this Act shall be 19given both prospective and retroactive application. Art. 6 of this Act is interpretive and remedial and shall be given prospective and retroactive application.
