MTR VEHICLE/LICEN PLATES: Establishes special prestige license plates for certain
Louisiana schools
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(G), relative to special prestige license plates; to
3 provide for the "Baker High School" and the "East Feliciana High School" special
4 prestige license plates; to provide for creation and application of existing issuance,
5 design, fees, distributions, and rule promulgation applicable to license plates; and to
6 provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(G) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
9 ยง463.73. Special prestige license plate plates; Louisiana parochial, public, and
10 private high schools

12 G. The secretary shall establish special prestige license plates for Archbishop
13 Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of
14 the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory School, Acadiana High School,
15 Baker High School, East Feliciana High School, Glen Oaks High School, Neville
16 High School, Carroll High School, Brusly High School, Port Allen High School,
17 Covington High School, Scotlandville Magnet High School, St. Michael the
18 Archangel High School, St. Mary's Dominican High School, St. Paul's School, St.
19 Scholastica Academy, St. Mary's Academy, and any other parochial, public, or

1 private Louisiana high school in accordance with the provisions of this Section as it
2 was enacted.
3 Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the secretary
4shall work in conjunction with Baker High School and East Feliciana High School or their
5designees to select the color and design of the plates, provided they are in compliance with
6R.S. 47:463(A)(3). The design for the Baker High School specialty plate shall include the
7words "Baker High School Buffaloes". Additionally, the design for the East Feliciana High
8School specialty plate shall include the words "East Feliciana High School Tigers".

Abstract: Creates the Baker High School and the East Feliciana High School special
prestige license plates.
Present law establishes the special prestige license plates for La. parochial, public, and
private high schools to include: Archbishop Hannan High School, Jesuit High School,
Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel
Preparatory School, Acadiana High School, Glen Oaks High School, Neville High School,
Carroll High School, Brusly High School, Port Allen High School, Covington High School,
Scotlandville Magnet High School, St. Michael the Archangel High School, St. Mary's
Dominican High School, St. Paul's School, St. Scholastica Academy, St. Mary's Academy.
Proposed law adds Baker High School and East Feliciana High School into the list of high
schools for which a special prestige license plate will be established. Additionally, all
present law provisions applicable to La. parochial, public, and private high school special
prestige license plates; such as, creation, issuance, design, fees, distribution, and rule
promulgation are applicable to such plates.
Requires the secretary to work in conjunction with the schools or their designees to select
the color and design of the plates, provided it is in compliance with present law. Further
requires the design for the Baker High School specialty plate to include the words "Baker
High School Buffaloes". Additionally, requires the design for the East Feliciana High
School specialty plate to include the words "East Feliciana High School Tigers".
