Abstract:  Prohibits certain insurers and third parties from using telematic driver information
without express consent.
Proposed law prohibits an insurer writing private passenger motor vehicle insurance or third parties
from sharing or using as a rating factor the personal telematic data of a driver without the express
consent of the owner of the motor vehicle.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Insurance to the original bill:
1. Delete application of proposed law to manufacturers and distributors.
2. Prohibit insurers writing private passenger motor vehicle insurance or third parties from
sharing or using as a rating factor the personal telematic data of a driver without the
express consent of the owner of the motor vehicle.
3. Make technical changes.
