COMMENDATIONS: Commends United Way of Southeast Louisiana on the occasion of
its centennial anniversary

2To commend United Way of Southeast Louisiana on the occasion of its centennial
3 anniversary.
4 WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana was established in 1924 with a
5mission to eradicate poverty in the region, and for a century, the organization has been at the
6forefront of addressing critical issues, creating opportunities, and fostering positive change
7in the community; and
8 WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana has built lasting partnerships with
9donors, advocates, volunteers, corporate partners, government officials, and other nonprofit
10organizations, contributing to the well-being of individuals and families in need; and
11 WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana's internal initiatives include
12financial capability programs, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), advocacy efforts,
13and disaster response and recovery; the organization's efforts have positively impacted the
14community by empowering individuals, addressing systemic issues, and providing crucial
15support during times of crisis; and
16 WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana plays a vital role in building a
17stronger and more resilient community that exemplifies the spirit of compassion,
18collaboration, and service; and
19 WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana is most deserving of the highest
20recognition for its incredible service to the state of Louisiana, especially on the occasion of
21the organization's centennial anniversary.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
2commend United Way of Southeast Louisiana on the occasion of its centennial anniversary
3and does hereby call upon all Louisianians to join in the celebration of this momentous
4occasion recognizing a century of service in the community.
