HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 15
BY REPRESENTATIVES FREEMAN AND COATES
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend United Way of Southeast Louisiana on the occasion of its centennial
anniversary.
WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana was established in 1924 with a
mission to eradicate poverty in the region, and for a century, the organization has been at the
forefront of addressing critical issues, creating opportunities, and fostering positive change
in the community; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana has built lasting partnerships with
donors, advocates, volunteers, corporate partners, government officials, and other nonprofit
organizations, contributing to the well-being of individuals and families in need; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana's internal initiatives include
financial capability programs, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), advocacy efforts,
and disaster response and recovery; the organization's efforts have positively impacted the
community by empowering individuals, addressing systemic issues, and providing crucial
support during times of crisis; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana plays a vital role in building a
stronger and more resilient community that exemplifies the spirit of compassion,
collaboration, and service; and
WHEREAS, United Way of Southeast Louisiana is most deserving of the highest
recognition for its incredible service to the state of Louisiana, especially on the occasion of
the organization's centennial anniversary.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend United Way of Southeast Louisiana on the occasion of its centennial anniversary
and does hereby call upon all Louisianians to join in the celebration of this momentous
occasion recognizing a century of service in the community.
