HONORARY DESIGNATIONS: Designates the city of Carencro as the Seasoning Capital
of the World
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To designate the city of Carencro as the Seasoning Capital of the World.
3 WHEREAS, the city of Carencro has a distinguished history and a significant
4contribution to the culinary arts through the production and innovation of seasoning blends
5that are integral to the cuisine of Louisiana and the world; and
6 WHEREAS, the city of Carencro encourages the preservation of traditional seasoning
7blending techniques while fostering culinary innovation; and
8 WHEREAS, the citizens of Louisiana recognize and celebrate the city of Carencro's
9contributions to both state and global culinary culture through its seasoning industry and the
10annual hosting of "The C'est Bon Seasoning Festival of the World"; and
11 WHEREAS, "The C'est Bon Seasoning Festival of the World" promotes tourism and
12economic development within the city of Carencro and surrounding areas; and
13 WHEREAS, "The C'est Bon Seasoning Festival of the World" serves as a showcase
14for the city's seasoning industry and a celebration of Louisiana's culinary heritage and its
15contribution to seasoning worldwide.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
17designate the city of Carencro as the Seasoning Capital of the World.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
19encourage the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism to incorporate this
20designation and celebration into promotional materials; explore opportunities for
21state-sponsored events, such as festivals or competitions, that highlight the significance of

1the seasoning industry in Carencro; and collaborate with local businesses and organizations
2to support the growth and sustainability of the seasoning industry in the city of Carencro.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
4recognize "The C'est Bon Seasoning Festival of the World" as an annual celebration in the
5city of Carencro that features seasoning and cooking workshops led by renowned chefs and
6experts; competitions for both amateur and professional chefs, with categories focusing on
7the innovative use of seasoning in cooking; marketplaces for local and international vendors
8to sell and showcase their seasoning products; and cultural performances and exhibitions
9highlighting Louisiana's history and diversity.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
11mayor of Carencro.
