HLS 24RS-3570 ORIGINAL 2024 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 149 BY REPRESENTATIVE DEVILLIER COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Louisiana State University at Eunice Fire and Emergency Services program for receiving the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education Recognition certificate 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Louisiana State University at Eunice Fire and Emergency Services 3 program for receiving the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education 4 Recognition certificate. 5 WHEREAS, Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE) is the only Louisiana 6institution and one of a few in the Gulf South to hold the prestigious Fire and Emergency 7Services Higher Education (FESHE) Recognition certificate; and 8 WHEREAS, LSUE is also one of only seven institutions nationwide that carries the 9FESHE Recognition certificate at the associate degree level; there are only twenty-one 10institutions that have FESHE Recognition at any level, associate, bachelor, or graduate; and 11 WHEREAS, LSUE is among the regionally or nationally accredited colleges and 12universities that have demonstrated commitment to the nationally recognized FESHE model 13of standardized professional development education criteria; and 14 WHEREAS, FESHE is concentrated on degree programs that emphasize firefighting 15response, fire prevention, fire administration, and EMS management; and 16 WHEREAS, Louisiana State University at Eunice is most deserving of the highest 17recognition for this incredible achievement. 18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Louisiana State University at Eunice Fire 20and Emergency Services program for receiving the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Page 1 of 2 HLS 24RS-3570 ORIGINAL HR NO. 149 1Education Recognition certificate and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the program 2continues to prosper and maintain its place among the premier fire protection and emergency 3services programs in the country.
