COMMENDATIONS: Commends Hunter Robertson on his selection as a 2024 Louisiana
Public Broadcasting Young Hero
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Hunter Robertson on his selection as a 2024 Louisiana Public Broadcasting
3 Young Hero.
4 WHEREAS, Hunter Robertson is junior at Denham Springs High School and native
5of Denham Springs, Louisiana; he was born four weeks early with a congenital anomaly
6covering his back that necessitated regular biopsies, which instilled in him a degree of
7empathy for other people's issues; and
8 WHEREAS, in October 2023, Hunter saved the life of a four-year-old girl who was
9struggling to stay afloat in the pond behind his house; after Hurricane Ida, he helped clean
10yards and delivered meals to the lineman restoring power; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Robertson is an active competitor in Junior Bassmaster, where he
12has placed first at competitions on five occasions; in 2020, he competed in the Junior
13National Bass Championship, and was also named Jr. Southwest Bassmaster Club
14"Fisherman of the Year"; and
15 WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hunter befriended a young neighbor
16with Downs Syndrome and taught him how to cast a rod and spot a nibble; this became a
17daily activity for the two boys, and within a week, his new friend had caught his first fish;
18and
19 WHEREAS, Hunter Robertson is most deserving of the highest recognition for his
20inspiring selflessness and compassion.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Hunter Robertson on his selection as a 2024
3Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Hero and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that he
4continue his excellent work and always strive for greatness.
