COMMENDATIONS: Commends Lacassine High School fifth grader Cecilia Hollier on
her nomination as a finalist for Elementary Student of the Year in Louisiana
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Lacassine High School fifth grader Cecilia Hollier on her nomination as a
3 finalist for Elementary Student of the Year in Louisiana.
4 WHEREAS, Cecilia Hollier is a truly inspiring fifth grade student at Lacassine High
5School who possesses a truly astonishing sense of civic duty and passion for community
6involvement; she loves to study math and science, and she is a dedicated big sister to her
7three little sisters; she wants to be a dentist when she finishes her education; and
8 WHEREAS, Cecilia is an active 4-H member and participates in achievement days,
9cookeries, contests, and the sewing club; she also loves to play basketball and is a member
10of the local Little Dribblers team and the Lacassine All-Star Little Dribblers team which won
11a state championship in 2023 and runner-up in 2024; she also served as the Lacassine junior
12high basketball team manager this year; and
13 WHEREAS, Cecilia is her class student council president, and she founded the
14Lacassine High School Communications Club where she teaches American Sign Language
15and other inclusive forms of communication; she is a member of Ainsley's Angels of
16America and has raised over $15,000 for the Southwest Louisiana chapter of the
17organization; and
18 WHEREAS, in addition to her incredible community involvement, Ms. Hollier is a
19talented individual; she is a pageant queen, plays the piano, and travels around the state
20supporting and promoting Louisiana culture at fairs and festivals; she currently holds the title
21of Miss Jefferson Davis Parish and Deb Miss Louisiana Pirate Festival; and

1 WHEREAS, Cecilia Hollier is most deserving of the highest recognition for her
2incredible community involvement and for her many outstanding achievements.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Lacassine High School fifth grader Cecilia
5Hollier on her nomination as a finalist for Elementary Student of the Year in Louisiana and
6does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue her incredible work and always strives
7for greatness.
