Present law establishes the Advisory Council on Heroin and Opioid Prevention and Education and
requires the council to establish an Interagency Heroin and Opioid Coordination Plan.
Present law requires the plan to be submitted annually to the Drug Policy Board, governor, president
of the Senate, speaker of the House, and chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court at the end of
each calendar year.
Proposed law changes the reporting deadline to March 15, to reflect the data of the previous calendar
year.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
