Proposed law requires the Louisiana Department of Health to establish a pilot program in one or
more of the nine department administrative regions to assist Medicaid recipients with accessing
portable oxygen concentrators when they have a prescription by a licensed physician.
Proposed law establishes the Medicaid Portable Oxygen Concentrator Fund to help cover the costs
of this benefit.
Effective August 1, 2024.
