2024 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 211 BY SENATOR LAMBERT 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:325.1(A)(3)(b), relative to possession limits for certain fish; 3 to provide for size limits for spotted sea trout and red drum; to provide for possession 4 of fish fillets; to provide for the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission; and to provide 5 for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 56:325.1(A)(3)(b) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as 8 follows: 9 ยง325.1. Size and possession limits; recreational saltwater finfish; penalties 10 A.(1) * * * 11 (3)(a) * * * 12 (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subparagraph (a) of this Paragraph and 13 R.S. 56:325.2(A) and (B), a fisherman who holds and is in possession of a valid 14 recreational fishing license and can demonstrate to the department's satisfaction use 15 of a boat launch located south of U.S. Highway 90 and that the fisherman has been 16 actively on the water or at a remote camp that can be accessed only by water for two 17 days or more may possess up to the possession limit of filleted red drum, spotted sea 18 trout, and Southern flounder. The filleted fish shall have sufficient skin remaining 19 on the fillet to allow for identification of the species and shall be segregated by 20 species into plastic bags or plastic containers that are marked by species to allow 21 easy identification, the date caught, and the name and license number of the person 22 who took the fish.
