(8/1/24) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:387.14, relative to commercial truck permits; to provide for 3 a multi-use permit; and to provide for related matters. 4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 5 Section 1. R.S. 32:387.14 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง387.14. Special permit; heavy equipment 7 In addition to the special permits issued on an annual basis or a per trip basis 8 as provided for in this Part, the secretary is hereby authorized to issue annual special 9 permits to transporters of heavy equipment. Notwithstanding any other provision 10 of law to the contrary, permits issued under this Section may be amended or 11 transferred between vehicles four times per calendar year. Any additional 12 transfers are within the discretion of the Department of Transportation and 13 Development. Proposed law retains present law and further provides the department shall allow permits to be amended or transferred between vehicles four times a year. Proposed law further provides for the department to have discretion for additional permit transfers. Effective August 1, 2024.
