Present law provides the Department of Transportation and Development shall establish a special
permit to transporters of heavy equipment.
Proposed law retains present law and further provides the department shall allow permits to be
amended or transferred between vehicles four times a year.
Proposed law further provides for the department to have discretion for additional permit transfers.
Effective August 1, 2024.
