SENATE BILL NO. 312

CHILDREN. Provides for the Adoption Awareness Act. (8/1/24)
1	AN ACT
2 To enact Chapter 14-E of Title 46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to be
3 comprised of R.S. 46:1445.1 through 1445.2, relative to assistance programs of the
4 Department of Children and Family Services; to require the Department of Children
5 and Family Services to include certain information on its website; and to provide for
6 related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. Chapter 14-E of Title 46 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,
9 comprised of R.S. 46:1445.1 through 1445.2, is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10	CHAPTER 14-E. ADOPTION AWARENESS ACT
11 §1445.1. Short title
12	This Act may be cited as the Adoption Awareness Act.
13 §1445.2. Adoption awareness; Department of Children and Family Services
14	A link to the AdoptionOption.La.Gov website as provided for in R.S.
15 40:1061.17, or any successor state agency administered website that promotes
16 adoption awareness and makes adoption resource information available to the
17 public, shall be made available and placed in a prominent location on the

1 websites administered by the Louisiana Department of Health and the
2 Department of Children and Family Services. Any other state agency that
3 administers a website may also provide a link to the AdoptionOption.La.Gov
4 website.
