FISH/FISHING. Provides for largemouth bass bag and size limits. (8/1/24)
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:325(A)(1), relative to freshwater recreational fish; to provide
3 for daily take and minimum size limits for largemouth bass; and to provide for
4 related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 56:325(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง325.  Daily take, possession, and size limits; freshwater recreational fish;
8	possession of finfish filets prohibited
9	A. No person shall take in any one day more than the following of each
10 species of fish, of the designated size where specified:
11	(1) Black bass (Micropterus spp.), or their hybrids--fifteen, in particular
12 largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) - minimum size twelve inches total
13 length - eight.

Present law provides a daily take limit of 15 fish for black basses of genus Micropterus.
Proposed law retains present law and adds a species-specific minimum size limit of 12
inches and a daily take limit of 8 fish for largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides). 
Effective August 1, 2024.
