1 AN ACT
2 To repeal R.S. 32:57(J) and 268, relative to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge; to repeal
3 designation as a highway safety corridor; to repeal provisions for camera safety
4 devices; to repeal provisions relative to traffic regulations; to repeal provisions for
5 signs and penalties; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 32:57(J) and 268 are hereby repealed in their entirety.

Present law declares the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge as a highway safety corridor and provides
that a person operating a motor vehicle that violates the provisions of present law while on
the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge shall be fined two times the standard fine imposed.
Proposed law repeals present law.
Present law requires the Department of Transportation and Development to install camera
safety devices, establish a process for identification of motor vehicles traveling in excess of
the posted speed limit and issuance of warnings and citations, and to adopt policies and
procedures for the issuance of citations and the collection of fines.

Present law creates in the state treasury a special fund and provides that any monies
collected as fines be deposited into the fund.
