Present law creates the Lafourche Basin Levee District.
Present law provides for the limits, responsibilities of the board of commissioners, and the police
of the Lafourche Basin Levee District.
Proposed law retains present law and changes the name from Lafourche Basin Levee District to
Lafourche Basin Conservation Levee and Drainage District.
Effective August 1, 2024.
