RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 30 (SB 43) 2024 Regular Session McMath Existing law authorizes an individual who was a full-time employee and commissioned by the agency or office from which he retired and is carrying the identification required by his office as a retired law enforcement officer to carry a concealed firearm anywhere in the state, including any place open to the public. Prior law defined the term "qualified retired law enforcement officer". New law retains prior law and includes a reserve officer as an individual who may be authorized to carry a concealed firearm in public if such officer meets all the other qualifications of a retired law enforcement officer.
