Present law authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Orleans Parish from the
University of La. System and the division of administration to The Ogden Museum of
Southern Art, Inc. Provides for the reservation of mineral rights to the state. Proposed law
retains present law.
Present law terminates the authority in present law on June 30, 2024.
Proposed law extends the authority in present law to June 30, 2028.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
(Amends Section 3 of Act 57 of the 2021 R.S.)
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Natural Resources and
Environment to the engrossed bill:
1. Remove the repeal of the termination of the state's authority to make a direct
sale.
2. Extend the state's authority to make a direct sale from June 30, 2024 to June 30,
2028.
