SENATE BILL NO. 45

1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to highways in the state; to designate an elevated portion of Interstate 12
3 in St. Tammany Parish as the "Patricia 'Pat' Brister Memorial Bridge"; to designate
4 a portion of United States Highway 51 in St. John the Baptist Parish as the "Arnold
5 J. Labat Memorial Highway"; to provide for restrictions on costs of materials to the
6 department; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. (A) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
9 contrary, the elevated portion of Interstate 12 in St. Tammany Parish, which
10 crosses the Tchefuncte River, is hereby designated as the "Patricia 'Pat' Brister
11 Memorial Bridge".
12 (B) The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
13 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided
14 local or private monies are received by the department equal to the
15 department's actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
16 installation of each sign, not to exceed the sum of one thousand six hundred
17 eighty dollars per sign.
18 Section 2. (A) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
19 contrary, a portion of United States Highway 51 in St. John the Baptist Parish
20 between United States Highway 61 and Interstate 10, is hereby designated as the
21 "Arnold J. Labat Memorial Highway".
22 (B) The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
23 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of the designation provided
