Proposed law prohibits forensic psychiatric hospitals that are issued an initial license after Aug. 1,
2024, from being located within one-half mile from a public or private elementary or secondary
school.
Proposed law authorizes a local governing authority to establish additional requirements for the
psychiatric facilities in proposed law.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
