SB 455 Engrossed 2024 Regular Session	Barrow
Proposed law prohibits a forensic psychiatric hospital issued an initial license after Aug. 1,
2024 from being located within one thousand feet from a public or private elementary or
secondary school.
Proposed law clarifies that a forensic psychiatric hospital issued an initial license before
Aug. 1, 2024 shall not be required to be located more than 1,000 feet from a public or private
elementary or secondary school.
Proposed law authorizes a local governing authority to establish additional requirements for
the psychiatric facilities in proposed law.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
