SENATE BILL NO. 53
BY SENATOR WOMACK AND REPRESENTATI VE RISER 
ROADS/HIGHWAYS. Designates a portion of Louisiana Highway 15 in Franklin Parish as
the "Lainey Wilson Highway". (8/1/24)
1	AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 15 in
3 Franklin Parish as the "Lainey Wilson Highway"; to provide for restrictions on costs
4 of materials to the department; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
7 portion of Louisiana Highway 15 in Franklin Parish from the intersection of Louisiana
8 Highway 577 to the northern parish line of Franklin located on the northern side of the
9 body of water known as "Big Creek", is hereby designated as the "Lainey Wilson
10 Highway".
11 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
12 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided local or
13 private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs
14 for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed
15 the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.
