1	AN ACT
2 To enact Part XII-A of Chapter 5-B of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,
3 to be comprised of R.S. 40:1124.1, relative to post-birth information; to require
4 certain information to be provided upon discharge; to provide for the requirements
5 of the Louisiana Department of Health; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. Part XII-A of Chapter 5-B of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes
8 of 1950, comprised of R.S. 40:1124.1, is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9	PART XII-A. PERINATAL PHYSICAL HEALTH POLICY
10 ยง1124.1. Discharge information; hospital and birthing center requirements
11	A. All hospitals and birthing centers that provide labor and delivery
12 services shall, prior to discharge following birth, provide the mother and her
13 family members information about post-birth warning signs, including
14 symptoms and available resources.
15	B. The Louisiana Department of Health shall make the information
16 available to hospitals and birthing centers and shall include the information on
17 the department's website.
