PUBLIC LANDS. Authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Allen Parish. (8/1/24)
1 AN ACT
2 To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Allen Parish; to provide for the property description; to
4 provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; and to
5 provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. The commissioner of administration and the secretary of the Department
8 of Public Safety and Corrections, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
9 are hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any
10 interest the state may have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property
11 to the Allen Parish Police Jury:
12 A portion of the Allen Correctional Center (OSL Site Code 5-02-008), being
13 situated in Sections 5 and 8, Township 6 South, Range 4 West, Allen Parish,
14 Louisiana, said portion estimated to contain approximately 160 acres.
15 Section 2. The commissioner of administration and the secretary of the Department
16 of Public Safety and Corrections are hereby authorized to enter into such agreements,
17 covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to
18 properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title to the

1 property described in Section 1, and as more specifically described in any such agreements
2 entered into and documents executed by and between the parties.
3 Section 3. This Act shall become effective on August 1, 2024; if vetoed by the
4 governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on
5 the day following such approval by the legislature or on August 1, 2024, whichever is later.
