Present constitution provides that the judicial power is vested in a supreme court, courts of
appeal, district courts, and other courts authorized in the constitution.
Proposed constitutional amendment allows the legislature, by a 2/3rds vote of each house,
to create additional courts.
Specifies submission of the amendment to the voters at the statewide election to be held on
Dec. 7, 2024.
