SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 38
BY SENATOR BASS AND REPRESENTATIVE BAMBURG 
CONDOLENCES. Expresses sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of
Henry "Richey" Jackson on the occasion of his passing.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
3 family and friends of Henry "Richey" Jackson upon the occasion of his passing.
4 WHEREAS, Henry "Richey" Jackson, a beloved member of the Louisiana
5 community, passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 79 in Ringgold, Louisiana; and
6 WHEREAS, Richey was born on November 8, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and
7 spent his life dedicated to serving his community and uplifting those around him; and
8 WHEREAS, Richey was a devout Catholic and a member of Mary Queen of Peace
9 Catholic Church in south Bossier City, where he found solace and strength in his faith; and
10 WHEREAS, Richey's commitment to education and mentorship was evident in his
11 33-year tenure as both a teacher and coach at Bossier High School, where he positively
12 impacted countless students' lives; and
13 WHEREAS, Richey's dedication extended beyond the classroom as he became the
14 founding director of the 26th Judicial District Attorney's Truancy Department, continuing
15 his mission of guiding and supporting youth in need; and
16 WHEREAS, Richey's love for physical fitness led him to the downtown Central
17 YMCA, where he formed lasting friendships and inspired others with his commitment to
18 health and well-being; and

1 WHEREAS, Richey cherished his time at Lake Bistineau, considering it the most
2 beautiful lake in the South, and found immense joy in sharing this passion with his family;
3 and
4 WHEREAS, Richey was a devoted husband to his loving wife Teri, a proud father
5 to his children Patrick "Tuffy," Sandi, Somer, and Darek, and a doting grandfather to his
6 thirteen grandchildren and great-grandson Benjamin, all of whom brought him immense
7 pride and joy; and
8 WHEREAS, Richey's unwavering optimism, belief in the goodness of people, and
9 dedication to God, country, and family were evident in every aspect of his life, leaving a
10 lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
12 express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana to the family
13 and friends of Henry "Richey" Jackson upon the occasion of his passing and honor his
14 legacy of service, mentorship, and positivity.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to his
16 wife Teri Jackson.
