SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 42

COMMENDATIONS. Recognizes and honors the Titan Aerobatic Team for their
outstanding contributions to the field of aerobatics and aviation and their role in enriching
the cultural heritage of airshows.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To recognize and honor the Titan Aerobatic Team for their outstanding contributions to the
3 field of aerobatics and aviation and their role in enriching the cultural heritage of
4 airshows.
5 WHEREAS, the Titan Aerobatic Team, originally founded in 1984 as the North
6 American Aerobatic Team by Alan Henley and Steve Gustafson, has become one of the most
7 revered and recognized aerobatic teams in North America; and
8 WHEREAS, the team has demonstrated unparalleled skill and precision in their
9 performances, thrilling millions of spectators across North and Central America with their
10 tight formations, impressive aerobatics, and the distinctive sound of their radial engines; and
11 WHEREAS, the team's members, including notable pilots such as Mark Henley,
12 Bryan Regan, Steve Gustafson, and Jimmy Fordham, have collectively amassed tens of
13 thousands of hours of flight experience, showcasing their dedication and passion for
14 aviation; and
15 WHEREAS, the Titan Aerobatic Team has maintained a commitment to aviation
16 excellence, inspiring countless young aviators and contributing to the community through
17 their awe-inspiring performances and participation in various charitable events; and
18 WHEREAS, the team has persevered through challenges, including the serious injury

1 of co-founder Alan Henley, demonstrating resilience and dedication to their craft and their
2 fans; and
3 WHEREAS, the team has evolved over the years, with significant milestones
4 including their sponsorship by AeroShell from 2000 until 2023, after which they proudly
5 took on the mantle of the Titan Aerobatic Team under the sponsorship of TITAN Aviation
6 Fuels.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
8 recognize and honor the Titan Aerobatic Team for their outstanding contributions to the field
9 of aerobatics and aviation and their role in enriching the cultural heritage of airshows.
